  1  1    Amend House File 2516 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 1, by inserting before line 1 the
  1  3 following:
  1  4    "Section 1.  NEW SECTION.  2.34  OBSERVANCE –
  1  5 MOMENT OF SILENCE.
  1  6    The general assembly shall establish a daily
  1  7 observance of one minute of silence on the floor of
  1  8 each chamber of the general assembly.  During the
  1  9 daily observance of the one-minute period of silence,
  1 10 the sergeant at arms shall ensure that all persons in
  1 11 the chamber remain attentive so that each person may
  1 12 reflect or engage in any silent activity that does not
  1 13 interfere with other persons in the exercise of their
  1 14 choice."
  1 15    #2.  Title page, line 2, by inserting after the
  1 16 word "district" the following:  "and by the general
  1 17 assembly".
  1 18    #3.  By renumbering as necessary.
