  1  1    Amend the amendment, H-1961, to House File 755, as
  1  2 follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 1, line 2, by striking the figure "30."
  1  4 and inserting the following:  "30 and inserting the
  1  5 following:
  1  6    "Sec.    .  NONPUBLIC SCHOOL TRANSPORTATION.
  1  7 Notwithstanding the standing appropriation in section
  1  8 285.2, the amount appropriated from the general fund
  1  9 of the state under section 285.2 to the department of
  1 10 education for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2001,
  1 11 and ending June 30, 2002, shall be the following
  1 12 amount:  
  1 13 .................................................. $  7,645,000
  1 14    If total approved claims for reimbursement for
  1 15 nonpublic school pupil transportation claims exceed
  1 16 the amount appropriated in this section, the
  1 17 department of education shall prorate the amount of
  1 18 each claim."
