  1  1    Amend House File 740 as amended, passed, and
  1  2 reprinted by the House, as follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 6, line 20, by inserting after the word
  1  4 "costs." the following:  "Any excess payment allowance
  1  5 realized from the direct care cost component of the
  1  6 modified price-based case-mix reimbursement shall be
  1  7 expended to increase the compensation of direct care
  1  8 workers or to increase the ratio of direct care
  1  9 workers to residents."
  1 10    #2.  Page 6, line 20, by inserting after the word
  1 11 "costs." the following:  "The department of human
  1 12 services shall implement a new monitoring and
  1 13 reporting system to assess compliance with the
  1 14 provisions of this paragraph."
  1 15    #3.  Page 6, line 31, by inserting after the word
  1 16 "costs." the following:  "Any excess payment allowance
  1 17 realized from the nondirect care cost component of the
  1 18 modified price-based case-mix reimbursement shall be
  1 19 used to fund quality of life improvements."
  1 20    #4.  Page 6, line 31, by inserting after the word
  1 21 "costs." the following:  "The department of human
  1 22 services shall implement a new monitoring and
  1 23 reporting system to assess compliance with the
  1 24 provisions of this paragraph."
  1 25    #5.  Page 11, line 2, by striking the figure "2000"
  1 26 and inserting the following:  "2001".
  1 27    #6.  Page 12, by striking lines 21 through 25.
  1 28    #7.  Title page, by striking lines 4 and 5, and
  1 29 inserting the following:  "department of human
  1 30 services."
  1 31    #8.  By renumbering, relettering, or redesignating
  1 32 and correcting internal references as necessary.
