1 10 b. Of the funds appropriated in this subsection,
1 11 $200,000 shall be used for assistance to providers of
1 12 child care to school-age children in accordance with
1 13 this paragraph. Moneys allocated in this paragraph
1 14 shall be used for grants to licensed child care
1 15 facilities providing care to school-age children as of
1 16 July 1, 2001. The grants shall be used to increase
1 17 the number of school-age children served, for
1 18 expansion of slots, or for transportation costs. The
1 19 grant requirements shall include provision for local
1 20 match in the form of cash, in-kind services, or other
1 21 support.
1 22 c. Of the funds appropriated in this subsection,
1 23 $300,000 shall be used for provision of educational
1 24 opportunities to registered child care home providers
1 25 in order to improve services and programs offered by
1 26 this category of providers and to increase the number
1 27 of providers. The department may contract with
1 28 institutions of higher education or child care
1 29 resource and referral centers to provide the
1 30 educational opportunities. Allowable administrative
1 31 costs under the contracts shall not exceed 5 percent.
1 32 d. The application for any of the grants described
1 33 in the lettered paragraphs of this subsection shall
1 34 not exceed two pages in length."
