1 1 Amend Senate Joint Resolution 3, as passed by the
1 2 Senate, as follows:
1 3 #1. Page 1, line 8, by inserting after the word
1 4 "Milwaukee" the following: "for the acquisition of
1 5 approximately ten acres of real property located next
1 6 to the community-based correctional facility in Cedar
1 7 Rapids, Iowa. The general assembly also authorizes
1 8 the sixth judicial district department of correctional
1 9 services, in lieu of extending the current lease-
1 10 purchase agreement, to enter into a new lease-purchase
1 11 agreement for a period beginning in the year 2001 and
1 12 extending through June 1, 2008, for the purpose of
1 13 refunding the current lease-purchase agreement and
1 14 financing the acquisition of approximately ten acres
1 15 of real property located next to the community-based
1 16 correctional facility in Cedar Rapids, Iowa".
1 17 #2. Page 1, line 10, by striking the words "of
1 18 the" and inserting the following: "or entering into
1 19 of a new".
1 20 #3. Page 1, line 12, by striking the word "the"
1 21 and inserting the following: "or enter into a new".
1 22 #4. Title, page 1, line 2, by striking the word
1 23 "a" and inserting the following: "or enter into a
1 24 new".
1 25 #5. Title, page 1, line 16, by inserting after the
1 26 word "Iowa" the following: ", or is desirous to enter
1 27 into a new lease-purchase agreement to refund the
1 28 current lease-purchase agreement and to acquire such
1 29 property".
1 30 #6. Title, page 1, by inserting after line 18 the
1 31 following:
1 32 "WHEREAS, if a new lease-purchase agreement is
1 33 entered into, the term would commence in the year
1 34 2001, and end on June 1, 2008; and".
1 35 #7. Title, page 2, by inserting after line 1 the
1 36 following:
1 37 "WHEREAS, the sixth judicial district department of
1 38 correctional services requests authorization to enter
1 39 into a new lease-purchase agreement in lieu of
1 40 extending the current lease-purchase agreement if the
1 41 district department so desires; and".
1 42 #8. Title, page 2, line 6, by striking the word
1 43 "the" and inserting the following: "or entering into
1 44 a new".
1 45 #9. Title, page 2, line 7, by striking the word
1 46 "the" and inserting the following: "or enter into a
1 47 new".
