  1  1    Amend the amendment, H-1444, to Senate File 342, as
  1  2 passed by the Senate, as follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 1, by inserting after line 50, the
  1  4 following:
  1  5    "Sec.    .  NOTIFICATION TO VOTERS.  For elections
  1  6 held after the effective date of this Act, up to and
  1  7 including the general election held on the first
  1  8 Tuesday after the first Monday in November 2002, the
  1  9 commissioner of elections in each county shall, seven
  1 10 days before the election, send by regular mail a
  1 11 notice to each registered voter in the county
  1 12 informing the voter that the voter will be required to
  1 13 show identification in order to vote.  The notice
  1 14 shall list the acceptable forms of identification as
  1 15 those forms are specified in section 49.77."
  1 16    #2.  By renumbering as necessary.
