  1  1    Amend the committee amendment, H-1011, to House
  1  2 File 1 as follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 1, by inserting after line 16 the
  1  4 following:
  1  5    "#   .  Page 1, by inserting after line 17 the
  1  6 following:
  1  7    "Sec.    .  NEW SECTION.  476.67  UTILITY
  1  8 CONTRIBUTION FUND.
  1  9    Commencing July 1, 2001, rate-regulated electric
  1 10 and gas utilities shall allocate fifty million dollars
  1 11 annually to a utility contribution fund for the same
  1 12 purposes described in section 476.66.  The Iowa
  1 13 utilities board shall promulgate rules to implement
  1 14 this section.  The board shall allocate the fifty
  1 15 million dollars based upon each utility's share of
  1 16 Iowa retail peak demand.  A utility shall not charge
  1 17 these costs to its ratepayers.""

  1 19 following:
  1 20    "#   .  Title page, by inserting after line 4 the
  1 21 following:  "requiring utilities to contribute to a
  1 22 fund to assist low-income energy users and"".
