  PETITION

  The following petition was presented and placed on file:

  From 35 residents of Dubuque County favoring legislation
  regarding improvements in the Iowa Public Employee Retirement
  System.  Senator Connolly.

  EXPLANATION OF VOTES

  MADAM PRESIDENT:  I was necessarily absent from the Senate Chamber on
  March 9, 2000, when the votes were taken on Senate Files 2238, 2252, 2303,
  2344,
  2366, and 2395.  Had I been present, I would have voted "Aye" on all.

  MADAM PRESIDENT:  I was necessarily absent from the Senate Chamber on
  March 9, 2000, when the vote was taken on Senate File 2395, and on March 13,
  2000,
  when the vote was taken on Senate File 2111.  Had I been present, I would
  have voted
  "Aye" on both.
