  The Senate met in regular session at 1:10 p.m., President Kramer
  presiding.

  Prayer was offered by the Reverend Jack Gray, pastor of the
  Calvary Christian Reformed Church of Orange City, Iowa, guest of
  Senator Veenstra.

  The Journal of Thursday, February 3, 2000, was approved.

  LEAVES OF ABSENCE

  Leaves of absence were granted as follows:

  Senator Deluhery, for the day, on request of Senator Black; Senator Drake,
  for the
  day and Tuesday, February 8, on request of Senator Jensen; and Senator
  Flynn, until
  he arrives, on request of Senator Black.

  INTRODUCTION OF BILLS

  Senate File 2092, by committee on Judiciary, a bill for an act
  relating to statutory corrections which may adjust language to reflect
  current practices, insert earlier omissions, delete redundancies and
  inaccuracies, delete temporary language, resolve inconsistencies and
  conflicts, update ongoing provisions, or remove ambiguities and
  providing effective dates.

  Read first time and placed on calendar.
