2 1. Page 28, line 7, by striking the figure
3 "756,749" and inserting the following: "781,749".
4 2. Page 28, by inserting after line 8 the
5 following:
6 "Of the funds appropriated in this subsection, not
7 more than $25,000 shall be used for redistricting
8 expenses."
9 3. Page 28, line 25, by striking the figure
10 "1,835,311" and inserting the following: "1,860,311".
Amendment H-8428 lost.
O'Brien of Boone asked and received unanimous consent to
withdraw amendment H-8394 filed by him on March 16, 2000.
O'Brien of Boone offered the following amendment H-8401 filed by
him and moved its adoption:

6 For expenses relating to the implementation of the
7 Iowa student political awareness club:
8 $ 50,000
9 It is the intent of the general assembly that the
10 secretary of state invite the legislators representing
11 local school districts to join with the secretary in
12 citizenship forums to educate students of the
13 importance of participating in the political process."
Roll call was requested by O'Brien of Boone and Murphy of
Dubuque.
