and Chiodo of Polk and moved its adoption:

2 1. Page 7, by inserting after line 28 the
3 following:
4 "For reimbursement to the city of Des Moines for
5 police and fire protection for state-owned buildings
6 and facilities located in the city:
7 .............................................………………………... $ 250,000"

Thomas of Clayton offered the following amendment H-8398 filed
by him and moved its adoption:
H-8398
1 Amend House File 2545 as follows:
2 1. Page 9, by inserting after line 16 the
3 following:
4 "Sec. . INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SERVICES -
5 COMPETITIVE BIDS.
6 1. Notwithstanding any contrary provision of law,
7 the department of agriculture and land stewardship and
8 the department of natural resources may execute
9 contracts with a person to provide information
10 technology services, including installing,
11 maintaining, or upgrading computers, computer
12 networks, and related peripheral equipment which would
13 otherwise be provided by the department of general
14 services.
15 2. The department of agriculture and land
16 stewardship and the department of natural resources
17 shall not execute a contract with a person pursuant to
18 subsection 1, unless the person submits a qualified
19 proposal to the department bidding an amount which is
20 less than is charged for comparable services provided
21 by the department of general services. The department
22 of agriculture and land stewardship and the department
23 of natural resources may consult with the department
24 of general services in order to effectively administer
25 this section."
