SENATE FILE 2246 SUBSTITUTED FOR HOUSE FILE 2314
Ford of Polk asked and received unanimous consent to substitute
Senate File 2246 for House File 2314, placing amendment H-8375
filed by Parmenter of Story on March 15, 2000, out of order.
Senate File 2246, a bill for an act relating to the accumulation of
credit upon an inmate's sentence for Iowa inmates incarcerated in
another jurisdiction, was taken up for consideration.
Parmenter of Story offered amendment H-8376 filed by him as
follows:
H-8376
1 Amend Senate File 2246, as passed by the Senate, as
2 follows:
3 1. Page 1, line 6, by striking the word "shall"
4 and inserting the following: "may".
5 2. Page 1, line 9, by inserting after the word
6 "jurisdiction" the following: "if ordered by the
7 court at the time of the inmate's sentencing".
Rants of Woodbury asked and received unanimous consent that
Senate File 2246 be deferred and that the bill be placed on the
unfinished business calendar. (Amendment H-8376 pending)
House File 2394, a bill for an act to eliminate the regulation of
frozen food locker plants by the department of agriculture and land
stewardship, was taken up for consideration.
Boggess of Page moved that the bill be read a last time now and
placed upon its passage which motion prevailed and the bill was read
a last time.
