  1  4 RELATING TO THE ACCUMULATION OF CREDIT UPON AN INMATE'S SEN-
  1  5    TENCE FOR IOWA INMATES INCARCERATED IN ANOTHER JURISDICTION.

  1  7 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
  1  8 
  1  9    Section 1.  Section 903A.5, unnumbered paragraph 2, Code
  1 10 Supplement 1999, is amended to read as follows:
  1 11    An inmate shall not receive credit upon the inmate's
  1 12 sentence for time spent in custody in another state resisting
  1 13 return to Iowa following an escape, or for time served.
  1 14 However, an inmate may receive credit upon the inmate's
  1 15 sentence while incarcerated in an institution or jail of
  1 16 another jurisdiction during any period of time the person is
  1 17 receiving credit upon a sentence of that other jurisdiction.
