The House met pursuant to adjournment at 8:50 a.m., Speaker
Siegrist in the chair.
Prayer was offered by Reverend Pike, pastor of Martelle Christian
Church, Martelle.
The Journal of Monday, March 6, 2000 was approved.
INTRODUCTION OF BILL
House File 2536, by Fallon, a bill for an act relating to the
assessing of a service charge in lieu of property taxes for the
providing of police and fire protection by a city for real property which
is totally or partially exempt from property tax, including
government-owned real property, and property of certain nonprofit
institutions and societies, and providing an applicability date.
Read first time and referred to committee on ways and means.
MESSAGES FROM THE SENATE
The following messages were received from the Senate:
Mr. Speaker: I am directed to inform your honorable body that the Senate has on
March 6, 2000, passed the following bill in which the concurrence of the House is
asked:
Senate File 2047, a bill for an act relating to the powers and duties of county
officers with respect to county warrants.
Also: That the Senate has on March 6, 2000, passed the following bill in which the
concurrence of the House is asked:
Senate File 2146, a bill for an act relating to the appearance in court and the
release from custody of certain criminal defendants.
Also: That the Senate has on March 6, 2000, passed the following bill in which the
concurrence of the House is asked:
