The House met pursuant to adjournment at 1:07 p.m., Speaker
Siegrist in the chair.
Prayer was offered by Reverend Glenn Reynolds, pastor of
Christian Life Assembly Church, Norwalk.
The Journal of Thursday, January 27, 2000 was approved.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Catherine Blades, National
American Princess from Iowa; Jaci Grubb, Miss Iowa Pre-teen;
Allyson Hovda, Miss Iowa Sweetheart; and Brooke Swift, Miss Iowa
Petite Princess.
LEAVE OF ABSENCE
Leave of absence was granted as follows:
Mertz of Kossuth on request of Schrader of Marion; Huseman of Cherokee on
request of Rants of Woodbury.
SPECIAL PRESENTATION
The Speaker introduced Brooke Swift, Miss Iowa Petite Princess,
who offered a poem before the House chamber.
The House expressed its appreciation.
INTRODUCTION OF BILLS
House File 2092, by Scherrman, a bill for an act relating to
parental and school notification by law enforcement officers when a
child under the age of eighteen violates the operating while
intoxicated prohibition or drives with a blood alcohol concentration at
or above .02.
