  presiding.

  Prayer was offered by the Reverend Jerry Miller of the Grimes
  United Methodist Church, Grimes, Iowa.

  The Journal of Tuesday, January 19, 1999, was approved.

  RECESS

  On motion of Senator Iverson, the Senate recessed at 9:07 a.m.,
  until 4:00 p.m.
