Sixty-fourth Calendar Day - Thirty-ninth Session Day

The House met pursuant to adjournment at 1:07 p.m., Speaker 
Corbett in the chair.
Prayer was offered by Reverend Marvin Leese, pastor of Sibley 
Christian Reformed Church, Sibley.
The Journal of Friday, March 12, 1999 was approved.
THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Kelli Warford, Heather Haines 
and Grant Mantell, eighth grade students at Adel-DeSoto-Minburn 
School, Adel.
TEACHER OF THE DAY
Representative Boal of Polk presented to the House the teacher of 
the day award in memory of Linda Boshart.  She was a teacher at 
WACO Community Wayland School.
LEAVE OF ABSENCE
Leave of absence was granted as follows:
Connors of Polk on request of Schrader of Marion; Eddie of Buena Vista on request 
of Siegrist of Pottawattamie; May of Worth on request of Foege of Linn; Heaton of 
Henry on request of Greiner of Washington.
INTRODUCTION OF BILLS
House Joint Resolution 13, by committee on state government, 
a joint resolution requesting the United States Department of 
Defense and the United States Army to place additional production 
work at the Rock Island Arsenal.
Read first time and placed on the calendar.
