pro tempore Rants in the chair.
Prayer was offered by the Honorable Henry Rayhons, state 
representative from Hancock County.
The Journal of Monday, March 8, 1999 was approved.

The following petition was received and placed on file:
By Sunderbruch of Scott, from fifteen constituents favoring House 
File 185, an act changing the boat motor regulations to allow any size 
boat motor on Lake McBride at no wake speed for all size motors.
INTRODUCTION OF BILLS
House File 570, by committee on agriculture, a bill for an act re-
lating to the Iowa turkey marketing council, by providing procedures 
for the administration of the council, a producer assessment, refunds, 
and for the expenditure of moneys by the council, and providing an 
effective date.
Read first time and placed on the calendar.
House File 571, by committee on commerce and regulation, a bill 
for an act relating to the deposit of public funds and the conditions 
which must be met by a savings and loan association or savings bank 
to be eligible to receive such deposits.
