Fourth Calendar Day - Fourth Session Day Hall of the House of Representatives Des Moines, Iowa, Thursday, January 14, 1999 The House met pursuant to adjournment at 8:50 a.m., Carroll of Poweshiek in the chair. Prayer was offered by Reverend Karen Merrill, pastor of United Methodist Church, Monroe. The Journal of Wednesday, January 13, 1999 was approved. INTRODUCTION OF BILLS House File 80, by Larson, a bill for an act relating to the refund of the sales, services, or use tax paid on the gross receipts from sales of tangible personal property or services rendered by a contractor used in a building contract for a project that is devoted to nonprofit private museum uses. Read first time and referred to committee on ways and means. House File 81, by Barry, a bill for an act prohibiting the crossbreeding of a dog with a wolf and the offering for sale or sale of a wolf dog crossbreed, and providing a penalty. Read first time and referred to committee on natural resources. House File 82, by Greiner, a bill for an act relating to regulation of the grain industry and providing for civil penalties. Read first time and referred to committee on agriculture. House File 83, by Cormack, a bill for an act relating to political telephone communication limitations, and providing a civil penalty. Read first time and referred to committee on state government. House File 84, by Cormack and Teig, a bill for an act relating to marketing, educational, and informational expenses of the lottery.
