  1 1 SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO.
  1 2 BY (PROPOSED COMMITTEE ON AGRICULTURE RESOLUTION
  1  3                     BY CHAIRPERSON GASKILL)
  1 4 A Senate Concurrent Resolution urging all state
  1 5 institutions and political subdivisions providing

  1 9 WHEREAS, agriculture has traditionally represented the
  1 10 foundation of this state's economy, providing the nation with

  1 14 WHEREAS, Iowa is the leading pork-producing state in the

  1 18 in 30 years and may remain severely depressed through 1999;
  1 19 and

  1 21 than at any time in the last half century; and
  1 22 WHEREAS, it is predicted that losses of 2.5 billion dollars

  1 24 of business and may threaten the cherished position of the
  1 25 family farm as the primary producer of pork for the nation;
  1 26 NOW THEREFORE,
  1 27 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
  1 28 CONCURRING, That all state institutions and political
