1 1 Section 1. STATE BOARD OF REGENTS. There is appropriated
1 2 from the general fund of the state to the state board of
1 3 regents for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2000, and ending
1 4 June 30, 2001, the following amounts, or so much thereof as is
1 5 necessary, to be used for the purposes designated:
1 6 STATE UNIVERSITY OF IOWA
1 7 For the accredited school of public health and the
1 8 initiative for the health and independence of elderly Iowans:
1 9 .................................................. $ 2,750,000
1 10 IOWA STATE UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
1 11 For the center for excellence in fundamental plant science,
1 12 and for salaries, support, maintenance, equipment, and
1 13 miscellaneous purposes:
1 14 .................................................. $ 4,670,000
1 15 UNIVERSITY OF NORTHERN IOWA
1 16 For continued implementation of the masters in social work
1 17 program and for not more than the following full-time
1 18 equivalent positions:
1 19 .................................................. $ 600,000
1 20 ............................................... FTEs 6.00
1 21 EXPLANATION
1 22 This bill appropriates moneys to the state board of regents
1 23 from the general fund of the state for fiscal year 2000-2001
1 24 for purposes of providing a second year of funding for the
1 25 school of public health and the public health initiative at
1 26 the university of Iowa, the center for excellence in
1 27 fundamental plant science at Iowa state university, and the
1 28 masters in social work program at the university of northern
1 29 Iowa.
