1 1 Section 1. DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY – NARCOTICS
1 2 ENFORCEMENT. There is appropriated from the general fund of
1 3 the state to the department of public safety for the fiscal
1 4 year beginning July 1, 2000, and ending June 30, 2001, the
1 5 following amount, or so much thereof as is necessary, to be
1 6 used for the purpose designated:
1 7 For the division of narcotics enforcement, including the
1 8 state's contribution to the peace officers' retirement,
1 9 accident, and disability system provided in chapter 97A in the
1 10 amount of 17 percent of the salaries for which the funds are
1 11 appropriated, and to meet federal fund matching requirements,
1 12 to be used for six additional narcotics enforcement agents:

1 14 EXPLANATION
1 15 This bill appropriates money from the general fund of the
1 16 state to the department of public safety for the fiscal year
1 17 beginning July 1, 2000, for use by the division of narcotics
1 18 enforcement to hire six additional narcotics enforcement
1 19 officers.
