1 1 Section 1. Section 99F.4, Code 1999, is amended by adding
1 2 the following new subsection:
1 3 NEW SUBSECTION. 22. To prohibit the operation of slot
1 4 machines using a theme or character associated with a product
1 5 intended for, marketed to, and generally used by persons under
1 6 twenty-one years of age. This subsection does not apply to a
1 7 theme or character used on slot machines operated on or before
1 8 the effective date of this Act.
1 9 EXPLANATION
1 10 This bill provides that the state racing and gaming
1 11 commission shall adopt and enforce rules prohibiting licensees
1 12 from installing and operating slot machines which use themes
1 13 and characters associated with a product which is intended
1 14 for, marketed to, and used by persons under 21 years of age.
1 15 The prohibition does not apply to characters and themes which
1 16 are in use on or before the effective date of this Act.
