1 1 Section 1. Section 137F.1, subsection 8, Code Supplement
1 2 1999, is amended by adding the following new paragraph:
1 3 NEW PARAGRAPH. m. A hospital bake shop or cafeteria in
1 4 which the only foods sold, in addition to prepackaged
1 5 nonpotentially hazardous food, are nonpotentially hazardous
1 6 baked goods, which have been prepared exclusively on the
1 7 premises of a residence for consumption off the premises to a
1 8 consumer customer and which are labeled to identify the name
1 9 and address of the person preparing the food and the common
1 10 name of the food.
1 11 EXPLANATION
1 12 This bill provides that certain hospital bake shops and
1 13 cafeterias qualify for an exception from regulation as a food
1 14 establishment. The bill provides that the exception is
1 15 available for a hospital bake shop or cafeteria which sells,
1 16 in addition to prepackaged nonpotentially hazardous food, only
1 17 nonpotentially hazardous baked goods prepared on the premises
1 18 of a residence for consumption off the premises to a consumer
1 19 customer. The bill additionally provides that the food must
1 20 be labeled to identify the name and address of the person
1 21 preparing the food and the common name of the food.
