1 4 RELATING TO THE ENHANCED CRIMINAL PENALTIES ASSOCIATED WITH
1 5 SEXUALLY PREDATORY OFFENSES AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

1 7 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:

1 9 Section 1. Section 901A.1, subsection 1, paragraph b, Code
1 10 1999, is amended by striking the paragraph.
1 11 Sec. 2. Section 901A.1, subsection 2, Code 1999, is
1 12 amended to read as follows:
1 13 2. As used in this chapter, the term "prior conviction"
1 14 includes a plea of guilty, deferred judgment, deferred or
1 15 suspended sentence, or adjudication of delinquency, regardless
1 16 of whether a prior conviction occurred before, on, or after
1 17 the effective date of this Act.
1 18 Sec. 3. Sections 901A.3 and 901A.4, Code 1999, are
1 19 repealed.
1 20 Sec. 4. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Act, being deemed of
1 21 immediate importance, takes effect upon enactment.
