1 1 Section 1. Section 562A.9, Code 1999, is amended by adding
1 2 the following new subsection:
1 3 NEW SUBSECTION. 5. A landlord shall have good cause to
1 4 terminate a rental agreement.
1 5 Sec. 2. Section 562B.10, subsection 4, Code 1999, is
1 6 amended to read as follows:
1 7 4. Rental agreements shall be for a term of one year
1 8 unless otherwise specified in the rental agreement. Rental
1 9 agreements shall be canceled by at least sixty days' written
1 10 notice given by either party. A notice to cancel under this
1 11 section initiated by the landlord shall be for good cause. A
1 12 landlord shall not cancel a rental agreement solely for the
1 13 purpose of making the tenant's mobile home space available for
1 14 another mobile home.
1 15 EXPLANATION
1 16 This bill provides that a landlord must have good cause
1 17 before terminating a residential rental agreement or a mobile
1 18 home space rental agreement.
