  1  1    Section 1.  Section 481A.130, subsection 1, Code 1999, is
  1  2 amended by adding the following new paragraphs:
  1  3    NEW PARAGRAPH.  i.  For each trumpeter swan, two thousand
  1  4 five hundred dollars.
  1  5    NEW PARAGRAPH.  j.  For each mute swan, tundra swan, or
  1  6 crane, five hundred dollars.  
  1  7                           EXPLANATION 
  1  8    This bill authorizes the court to award the state the
  1  9 following civil damages for each of the listed animals which
  1 10 is unlawfully taken, possessed, sold, or injured:
  1 11    1.  For each trumpeter swan, $2,500.
  1 12    2.  For each mute swan, tundra swan, or crane, $500.
