  1  1    Section 1.  Section 350.7, Code 1999, is amended to read as
  1  2 follows:
  1  3    350.7  JOINT OPERATIONS.
  1  4    Any county conservation board may co-operate cooperate with
  1  5 the federal government or the state government or any
  1  6 department or agency thereof to carry out the purposes and
  1  7 provisions of this chapter.  Any county conservation board may
  1  8 also cooperate with a private, not-for-profit organization to
  1  9 carry out public projects and programs authorized under this
  1 10 chapter.  Any county conservation board may join with any
  1 11 other county board or boards to carry out this chapter, and to
  1 12 that end may enter into agreement with each other and may do
  1 13 any and all things necessary or convenient to aid and co-
  1 14 operate cooperate in carrying out the chapter.  Any city,
  1 15 village or school district may aid and co-operate cooperate
  1 16 with any county conservation board or any combination of
  1 17 boards in equipping, operating and maintaining museums, parks,
  1 18 preserves, parkways, playgrounds, recreation centers, and
  1 19 conservation areas, and for providing, conducting and
  1 20 supervising programs of activities, and may appropriate money
  1 21 for such purposes.  The natural resource commission, county
  1 22 engineer, county agricultural agent, and other county
  1 23 officials shall render assistance which does not interfere
  1 24 with their regular employment.  The board of supervisors may
  1 25 be reimbursed to the credit of the proper fund from county
  1 26 conservation funds for actual expense of operation of county-
  1 27 owned equipment, use of county equipment operators, supplies,
  1 28 and materials of the county, or for the reasonable value for
  1 29 the use of county real estate made available for the use of
  1 30 the county conservation board.  
  1 31                           EXPLANATION
  1 32    This bill authorizes a county conservation board to
  1 33 cooperate with a private, not-for-profit organization to carry
  1 34 out conservation and recreation activities and purposes as
  1 35 authorized under Code chapter 350.
