1 3 #1. Page 1, by inserting after line 26 the
1 4 following:
1 5 "Sec. . APPLICABILITY.
1 6 1. This Act shall apply to all counties except
1 7 those counties described in subsection 2.
1 8 2. This Act shall not apply to counties which
1 9 budgeted and funded, for the fiscal year beginning
1 10 July 1, 1999, uniform law enforcement patrol services
1 11 by the county sheriff from the rural services fund,
1 12 unless the counties increase the funding from the
1 13 rural services fund above the amount in the budget
1 14 certified on or before March 15, 2000.
1 15 3. However, this Act shall also apply to counties
1 16 described in subsection 2, after the last day of the
1 17 regular session of the general assembly which convenes
1 18 following the final court decision pertaining to
1 19 litigation pending before the district court of Lyon
1 20 or Story county addressing the issue of funding of
1 21 uniform law enforcement patrol services provided by
1 22 the county sheriff, whichever decision is issued
1 23 last."
1 24 #2. Title page, line 3, by inserting after the
1 25 word "expenses" the following: "and providing
1 26 applicability dates."
