  1  1    Amend House File 2315, as passed by the House, as
  1  2 follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 1, by inserting after line 11 the
  1  4 following:
  1  5    "Sec.    .  Section 509A.13, Code 1999, is amended
  1  6 to read as follows:
  1  7    509A.13  CONTINUATION OF GROUP INSURANCE.
  1  8    If a governing body, a county board of supervisors,
  1  9 or a city council has procured for its employees
  1 10 accident, health, or hospitalization insurance, or a
  1 11 medical service plan, or has contracted with a health
  1 12 maintenance organization authorized to do business in
  1 13 this state, the governing body, county board of
  1 14 supervisors, or city council shall allow its employees
  1 15 who retired before attaining sixty-five years of age
  1 16 to continue participation in the group plan or under
  1 17 the group contract at the employee's own expense until
  1 18 the employee attains sixty-five years of age.
  1 19 However, a governing body, a county board of
  1 20 supervisors, or a city council may agree to pay all or
  1 21 part of the employee's expense of group insurance as
  1 22 described in this section.
  1 23    This section applies to employees who retired on or
  1 24 after January 1, 1981."
  1 25    #2.  Title page, line 2, by striking the word
  1 26 "cities" and inserting the following:  "governmental
  1 27 entities".
  1 28    #3.  By renumbering as necessary.
