1 4 CONCERNING THE PAYMENT OF HEALTH AND MEDICAL INSURANCE
1 5 COVERAGE COSTS BY CITIES TO RETIRED EMPLOYEES.

1 7 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:

1 9 Section 1. NEW SECTION. 364.25 RETIREE HEALTH CARE.
1 10 A city may provide health or medical insurance coverage or
1 11 supplemental health or medical insurance coverage to retired
1 12 employees of the city. A city providing health or medical
1 13 insurance coverage pursuant to this section may establish such
1 14 requirements or restrictions concerning the coverage provided
1 15 as the city may adopt. If coverage is provided, the cost of
1 16 the health or medical insurance coverage may be paid from
1 17 moneys held in a trust and agency fund established pursuant to
1 18 section 384.6, or out of an appropriation from the city
1 19 general fund for this purpose.
