  1  1    Amend Senate Resolution 111 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 1, lines 6 and 7, by striking the words
  1  3 "the Ten Commandments" and inserting the following:
  1  4 "a listing of the essential teachings of Buddhism,
  1  5 Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and Hinduism".
  1  6    #2.  Page 1, line 17, by striking the words "Ten
  1  7 Commandments" and inserting the following:  "essential
  1  8 teachings of the world's five major religions".
  1  9    #3.  Page 1, lines 19 and 20, by striking the words
  1 10 "and the United States" and inserting the following:
  1 11 "; the United States, and in the world".
  1 12    #4.  Page 1, line 24, by inserting after the words
  1 13 "the states" the following:  ", and this power is
  1 14 deemed by the Iowa Senate to include the essential
  1 15 teachings of the world's five major religions".
  1 16    #5.  Page 1, lines 27 and 28, by striking the words
  1 17 "Ten Commandments" and inserting the following:
  1 18 "essential teachings of the world's five major
  1 19 religions".
  1 20    #6.  Page 1, line 29, by striking the words "the
  1 21 Ten Commandments" and inserting the following:  "a
  1 22 listing of the essential teachings of Buddhism,
  1 23 Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and Hinduism".
  1 24    #7.  Page 2, line 4, by striking the words "the Ten
  1 25 Commandments" and inserting the following:  "a listing
  1 26 of the essential teachings of Buddhism, Christianity,
  1 27 Islam, Judaism, and Hinduism".
