1 1 Section 1. Section 422.45, Code Supplement 1999, is
1 2 amended by adding the following new subsection:
1 3 NEW SUBSECTION. 57. The gross receipts from the sales of
1 4 tangible personal property to a nonprofit music organization
1 5 that is exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3)
1 6 of the Internal Revenue Code and that is organized and
1 7 operated for the presentation of live public performances on a
1 8 regular basis.
1 9 EXPLANATION
1 10 The bill exempts from the sales and use taxes sales of
1 11 tangible personal property made to a tax exempt nonprofit
1 12 music organization that presents live public performances on a
1 13 regular basis.
