1 20 A House Resolution congratulating the University of
1 21 Iowa Men's Basketball Team.
1 22 WHEREAS, the citizens of Iowa are extremely pleased
1 23 and rightly proud that the University of Iowa Men's
1 24 Basketball Team, in Head Coach Tom Davis' last season,
1 25 exceeded all expectations in compiling a 20-10 record;
1 26 and
1 27 WHEREAS, the citizens of Iowa have taken great
1 28 satisfaction in the fact that the University of Iowa
1 29 Men's Basketball Team reached the Sweet Sixteen in the
1 30 NCAA Tournament before being defeated by the eventual
2 1 champion of the tournament, the University of
2 2 Connecticut; and
2 3 WHEREAS, the citizens of the State of Iowa were
2 4 thrilled by the can-do attitude of the University of
2 5 Iowa Men's Basketball Team that time and time again
2 6 surprised all fans by winning games in places such as
2 7 Ohio State University and the University of Kansas;
2 8 and
2 9 WHEREAS, the citizens of Iowa applaud Coach Tom
2 10 Davis in this, his last season, for his integrity and
2 11 his outstanding coaching job at the University of
2 12 Iowa; NOW THEREFORE,
2 13 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES,
2 14 That Coach Tom Davis and the University of Iowa Men's
2 15 Basketball Team be commended on their successful
2 16 season and be thanked for the honor and excitement
2 17 they brought to the State of Iowa.
