1 1 HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO.
1 2 BY SUKUP, BAUDLER, METCALF, JACOBS, DOTZLER, FALCK,
1 3 HOLVECK, DIX, BRUNKHORST, KETTERING, and GARMAN
1 4 A Concurrent Resolution demanding the Iowa Housing
1 5 Corporation return state moneys to the Iowa Finance
1 6 Authority and requesting the Iowa Finance Authority
1 7 to honor contractual obligations with the Iowa
1 8 Housing Corporation.
1 9 WHEREAS, the Iowa Housing Corporation was created
1 10 in 1990 with $8 million in public moneys from the Iowa
1 11 Finance Authority; and
1 12 WHEREAS, the issues surrounding the Iowa Housing
1 13 Corporation and the State of Iowa's past and current
1 14 role in the Iowa Housing Corporation's operation have
1 15 been and continue to be complex and troublesome; and
1 16 WHEREAS, Governor Tom Vilsack has requested that
1 17 the Iowa Housing Corporation return $8 million in
1 18 state moneys to the Iowa Finance Authority as part of
1 19 a comprehensive housing strategy; NOW THEREFORE,
1 20 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, THE
1 21 SENATE CONCURRING, That the General Assembly supports
1 22 the Governor's call for the return of $8 million to
1 23 the Iowa Finance Authority; and
1 24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the General Assembly
1 25 demands that the Iowa Housing Corporation comply with
1 26 the request of the Governor in a prompt and prudent
1 27 manner; and
1 28 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the General Assembly
1 29 requests that the Iowa Finance Authority honor
1 30 contractual obligations with the Iowa Housing
2 1 Corporation as necessary to ensure an orderly transfer
2 2 of these public moneys.
