  1  2    #1.  Page 4, line 5, by striking the words "an
  1  3 order of selection" and inserting the following:  "a
  1  4 waiting list".

  1  6    #3.  Page 13, line 30, by striking the figure
  1  7 "117,382" and inserting the following:  "171,382".
  1  8    #4.  Page 18, by striking line 28.
  1  9    #5.  Page 37, by inserting after line 34 the
  1 10 following:
  1 11    "Sec.    .  Section 266.39C, subsection 3,
  1 12 unnumbered paragraph 1, Code 1999, is amended to read
  1 13 as follows:
  1 14    Iowa state university of science and technology
  1 15 shall employ a director for the center, who shall be
  1 16 appointed by the president of Iowa state university of
  1 17 science and technology.  The director of the center
  1 18 shall employ necessary research and support staff.
  1 19 The director and staff shall be employees of Iowa
  1 20 state university of science and technology.  No more
  1 21 than five seven hundred thousand dollars of the funds
  1 22 made available by appropriation from state revenues in
  1 23 any one year shall be expended by the center for the
  1 24 salaries and benefits of the employees of the center,
  1 25 including the salary and benefits of the director.
  1 26 The remainder of the funds appropriated from state
  1 27 funds shall be used to sponsor research grants and
  1 28 projects submitted on a competitive basis by Iowa
  1 29 colleges and universities and private nonprofit
  1 30 agencies and foundations.  The center may also solicit
  1 31 additional grants and funding from public and private
  1 32 nonprofit agencies and foundations."
