  1  1    Amend House File 2410 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 5, by inserting after line 20 the
  1  3 following:
  1  4    "Sec.    .  Section 261B.3A, Code 1999, is amended
  1  5 to read as follows:
  1  6    261B.3A  REQUIREMENT.
  1  7    A In order to register, a school offering courses
  1  8 or programs of study leading to a degree in the state
  1  9 of Iowa shall be accredited by an agency or
  1 10 organization approved or recognized by the United
  1 11 States department of education or a successor agency
  1 12 and be approved for operation by the appropriate state
  1 13 agencies in all other states in which it operates or
  1 14 maintains a presence college student aid commission.
  1 15    Sec.    .  Section 261B.4, subsection 9, Code 1999,
  1 16 is amended to read as follows:
  1 17    9.  Whether The name of the school is accredited by
  1 18 any accrediting agency recognized by the United States
  1 19 department of education or a successor agency and, if
  1 20 so, the name of the accreditation body which has
  1 21 accredited the school and the status under which
  1 22 accreditation is held.
  1 23    Sec.    .  Section 261B.9, subsection 6, Code 1999,
  1 24 is amended to read as follows:
  1 25    6.  Whether The name of the school is accredited by
  1 26 an accrediting agency recognized by the United States
  1 27 department of education or its successor agency which
  1 28 has accredited the school."
