1 2 reprinted by the Senate, as follows:
1 3 #1. Page 6, by inserting after line 25 the
1 4 following:
1 5 "It is the intent of the general assembly that if
1 6 the state has a facility in a community that has an
1 7 area that is eligible to be designated an enterprise
1 8 zone or an area of urban renewal as defined in chapter
1 9 403, the state shall lease in that area that is
1 10 eligible to be designated an enterprise zone or area
1 11 of urban renewal unless the department of general
1 12 services certifies that no reasonable facility exists
1 13 within the area eligible to be designated an
1 14 enterprise zone or an area of urban renewal. The
1 15 department of general services shall certify a lease
1 16 pursuant to this paragraph with the cooperation of the
1 17 department of economic development. The department of
1 18 general services shall submit its recommendation
1 19 concerning a lease to the executive council. This
1 20 paragraph shall pertain to leases made on or after
1 21 July 1, 1999."
