1 3 #1. Page 3, by inserting after line 25 the
1 4 following:
1 5 "Sec. . NEW SECTION. 28E.42 JOINT ISSUANCE OF
1 6 SCHOOL DISTRICT OR FIRE DISTRICT BONDS.
1 7 It is the intent of the general assembly to
1 8 encourage school districts or fire districts to
1 9 jointly issue general obligation bonds to fund
1 10 separate projects proposed in each district and, by
1 11 pooling their debt obligations, to realize a savings
1 12 for taxpayers in each of the participating districts.
1 13 1. Two or more school districts may enter an
1 14 agreement pursuant to this chapter for the purpose of
1 15 financing projects for which debt obligations may be
1 16 or have been incurred pursuant to chapter 296 or 298.
1 17 For purposes of this section, "school district" means
1 18 a public school district described in chapter 274.
1 19 2. Two or more fire districts may enter an
1 20 agreement pursuant to this chapter for the purpose of
1 21 financing projects for which debt obligations may be
1 22 or have been incurred pursuant to chapter 74, 75, 331,
1 23 or 384. For purposes of this section, "fire district"
1 24 means any governmental entity which provides fire
1 25 protection services."
1 26 #2. Title page, line 3, by inserting after the
1 27 words "school districts" the following: "and
1 28 providing for joint issuance of school district or
1 29 fire district bonds".
