  development, certain board of regents institutions, the department of
  workforce development, the public employment relations board,
  making related statutory changes, and providing an effective date
  provision, amended by the House in House amendment S-5540 filed
  April 7, 1998.

  Action on House amendment S-5540 was deferred.

  Senator Borlaug filed the following motion to reconsider from the
  floor and moved its adoption:

  MADAM PRESIDENT:  I move to reconsider the vote by which amendment S-5749
  to House amendment S-5540 to Senate File 2296 was adopted by the Senate on
  April
  17, 1998.

  ALLEN BORLAUG

  The motion prevailed by a voice vote and amendment S-5749 to
  House amendment S-5540 was taken up for reconsideration.

  Action on amendment S-5749 to House amendment S-5540 was
  deferred.

  Senator McCoy asked and received unanimous consent to
  withdraw amendment S-5775, filed by him from the floor to
  amendment S-5749 to House amendment S-5540.

  Senator Iverson offered amendment S-5777, filed by Senators
  Iverson and Connolly from the floor to amendment S-5749 to House
  amendment S-5540.

  Senator Rehberg called for a division of amendment S-5777:  page
  1, lines 4-42 as division S-5777A; page 1, lines 43-50, page 2, and
  page 3 as division S-5777B.

  Senator Iverson moved the adoption of division S-5777A.

  Division S-5777A was adopted by a voice vote.

  Senator Iverson moved the adoption of division S-5777B.

  Division S-5777B was adopted by a voice vote.
