  The motion prevailed.

  Senator Borlaug moved to reconsider the vote by which Senate File
  2296 went to its last reading, which motion prevailed by a voice vote.

  With the adoption of the motion to reconsider by Senator Borlaug,
  the motions to reconsider filed by Senator Connolly and Senator
  McLaren, filed on April 17, 1998, and found on page 1378 of the
  Senate Journal, were out of order.

  Senator Borlaug filed the following motion to reconsider from the
  floor and moved its adoption:

  MADAM PRESIDENT:  I move to reconsider the vote by which House amendment
  S-5540 to Senate File 2296 was adopted by the Senate on April 17, 1998.

  ALLEN BORLAUG

  The motion prevailed by a voice vote, and House amendment
  S-5540 was taken up for reconsideration.
