Senate Journal: Page 1055: Monday, April 6, 1998

  The motion prevailed by a voice vote and amendment S-3648 by
  Senators Dearden and Kibbie to page 2 of the bill was taken up for
  reconsideration.

  Senator Dearden asked and received unanimous consent that
  action on amendment S-3648 be deferred.

  Senator Rife offered amendment S-5498 filed by Senators Rife and
  Dearden on April 2, 1998, striking everything after the enacting
  clause and to the title page of the bill and moved its adoption.

  Amendment S-5498 was adopted by a voice vote.

  With the adoption of amendment S-5498, the Chair ruled the
  following amendments out of order:

  Amendment S-3651 filed by Senator Palmer on April 21, 1997, to
  page 2 of the bill, previously deferred;

  Amendment S-3648 filed by Senators Dearden and Kibbie on
  April 21, 1997, to page 2 of the bill, previously deferred; and

  Amendment S-5014 filed by the committee on Business and Labor
  Relations on February 3, 1998, to page 1 of the bill.

  Senator Rife moved that the bill be read the last time now and
  placed upon its passage, which motion prevailed by a voice vote, and
  the bill was read the last time.

  On the question "Shall the bill pass?" (S.F. 540), the vote was:
