  Senator Schuerer asked and received unanimous consent that
  Senate File 2282 be withdrawn from further consideration of the
  Senate.

  UNFINISHED BUSINESS CALENDAR

  House File 2514

  On motion of Senator Borlaug, House File 2514, a bill for an act
  relating to motor vehicle operation and motor vehicles, carriers and
  motor trucks, and penalties and hazardous materials, including
  weight requirements and transportation of hazardous materials, and
  providing an effective date, with report of committee recommending
  amendment and passage, placed on the Unfinished Business
  Calendar on March 26, 1998, was taken up for consideration.

  Senator Borlaug offered amendment S-5283, filed by the
  committee on transportation on March 18, 1998, to page 4 of the bill
  and moved its adoption.

  Amendment S-5283 was adopted by a voice vote.

  LEAVE OF ABSENCE

  Leave of absence was granted as follows:

  Senator Neuhauser for the remainder of the day, on request of Senator
  Dvorsky.

  BUSINESS PENDING

  House File 2514

  The Senate resumed consideration of House File 2514.

  Senator Borlaug offered amendment S-5397, filed by Senators
  Borlaug and McCoy from the floor, to page 5 of the bill and moved its
  adoption.

  Amendment S-5397 was adopted by a voice vote.
