Senate Journal: Page 893: Wednesday, March 25, 1998

  Senator McLaren offered amendment S-5355, filed by him on
  March 24, 1998, to pages 1-3, 6-8, 15, 16, and 18 of the bill, and
  moved its adoption.

  Amendment S-5355 was adopted by a voice vote.

  Senator Flynn offered amendment S-5353, filed by him on March
  24, 1998, to page 6 of the bill.

  Senator Flynn asked and received unanimous consent that action
  on amendment S-5353 be deferred.

  Senator Harper offered amendment S-5360, filed by her on March 24,
  1998, to page 6 of the bill and moved its adoption.

  Amendment S-5360 was adopted by a voice vote.

  Senator Boettger asked and received unanimous consent to
  withdraw amendment S-5242, filed by Senators Boettger and
  Neuhauser on March 12, 1998, to page 7 of the bill.

  With the withdrawal of amendment S-5242, the Chair ruled
  amendment S-5354, filed by Senator Neuhauser to amendment
  S-5242 on March 24, 1998, out of order.

  The Senate stood at ease at 10:45 a.m. until the fall of the gavel.

  The Senate resumed session at 10:54 a.m., President Kramer
  presiding.

  PRESENTATION OF VISITORS

  The Chair welcomed the following visitors who were present in the
  Senate gallery:

  Twenty-four eighth grade students from Ruthven-Ayrshire School,
  Ruthven, accompanied by Jon Josephson.  Senator Kibbie.
