The bill having received a constitutional majority was declared to have passed the Senate and the title was agreed to. UNFINISHED BUSINESS (Deferred March 16, 1998) Senate File 2284 The Senate resumed consideration of Senate File 2284, a bill for an act relating to rural improvement zones, deferred March 16, 1998. Senator Iverson offered amendment S-5259, filed by him on March 17, 1998, to page 1 of the bill. Senator Gronstal raised the point of order that amendment S-5259 was not germane to the bill under section 180 of Mason's Manual of Legislative Procedure. The Chair ruled the point not well taken and amendment S-5259 in order. Senator Iverson asked unanimous consent that action on amendment S-5259 and Senate File 2284 be deferred. Senator Iverson withdrew his request. Senator Gronstal asked and received unanimous consent that action on amendment S-5259 and Senate File 2284 be deferred. CONSIDERATION OF BILL (Regular Calendar) Senator Iverson asked and received unanimous consent to take up for consideration House File 2412. House File 2412 On motion of Senator Fraise, House File 2412, a bill for an act relating to optometrists' reports to the department of transportation concerning a person's ability to operate a motor vehicle, with report of committee recommending passage, was taken up for consideration.
