  The Senate met in regular session at 9:18 a.m., President Kramer
  presiding.

  Prayer was offered by the Reverend Mark Sherwood, pastor of the
  Berean Baptist Church, Perry, Iowa.

  The Journals of Monday, March 9, 1998, and Tuesday, March 10,
  1998, were approved.

  LEAVES OF ABSENCE

  Leaves of absence were granted as follows:

  Senator Vilsack until his arrival, and Senator Flynn for the remainder of
  the week,
  on request of Senator Gronstal.

  BILL REFERRED TO COMMITTEE

  Senator Iverson asked and received unanimous consent that
  House File 2468 be referred from the Regular Calendar to the
  committee on Appropriations.

  CONSIDERATION OF BILLS
  (Regular Calendar)

  Senator Iverson asked and received unanimous consent to take up
  for consideration Senate Files 2335, 2348, 2359, and 2246.
