  BILLS ASSIGNED TO COMMITTEE

  President Kramer announced the assignment of the following bills
  to committee:

  S. F.  539 Judiciary
  S. R.  8 Rules and Administration

  ANNOUNCEMENT BY THE MINORITY LEADER

  Minority Leader Gronstal announced to the President of the Senate
  on April 14, 1997, the following committee appointment:

  Effective immediately, on a temporary basis, Pat Harper will be taking my
  place on
  the Appropriations Committee.

  A permanent resolution to the committee assignments will not be reached
  until we
  further explore our alternatives.

  ADJOURNMENT

  On motion of Senator Iverson, the Senator adjourned at 8:10 p.m.,
  until 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 15, 1997.
