  HOUSE MESSAGE RECEIVED AND CONSIDERED

  The following message was received from the Chief Clerk of the
  House:

  MADAM PRESIDENT: I am directed to inform your honorable body that the House
  has on March 4, 1997, passed the following bill in which the concurrence of
  the Senate
  is asked:

  House File 388, a bill for an act reducing the state individual
  income tax rates by fifteen percent and including an effective date
  provision.

  This bill was read first time and passed on file.

  INTRODUCTION OF BILL

  Senate File 298, by Angelo, a bill for an act providing for the
  amount of a surety bond required to be executed by a treasurer of an
  extension council.

  Read first time and passed on file.

  RECESS

  On motion of Senator Iverson, the Senate recessed at 9:41 a.m.,
  until 1:00 p.m.
