1st Day MONDAY, JANUARY 13, 1997 9 Following is a summary of remarks by Senator Redfern: Senator Redfern welcomed the new members to a citizen-legislature. He noted the historical significance of legislators who continue to live and work in their communities. He told the new members that balancing their community, family, and work with legislative responsibilities would be a challenge, but they would find it a most rewarding challenge.
