workers' compensation by repealing the second injury
compensation Act, eliminating the second injury fund, providing
for the resolution of claims against the fund, including the
imposition of an employer surcharge, providing for employee
compensation for certain subsequent injuries, and providing an
effective date.
Read first time and referred to committee on labor and
industrial relations.
House File 729, by committee on ways and means, a bill for
an act relating to reporting and depositing of local option
sales and services taxes to the department of revenue and
finance by retailers and increasing the amount of estimated
distribution and frequency of distribution to cities and
counties by the department of revenue and finance.
Read first time and placed on the ways and means calendar.
IMMEDIATE MESSAGE
Siegrist of Pottawattamie asked and received unanimous consent
that House File 724 be immediately messaged to the Senate.

to consider Senate File 533.
Appropriations Calendar

appropriations to the justice system and providing effective
dates, with report of committee recommending amendment and
passage, was taken up for consideration.
